There is no shortage of heart-stopping images displaying our mountains in full majesty.
March Madness is alive and well in the Cascade Mountains. We’ve enjoyed epic snow dumps in the last couple of weeks, followed up by clear skies and bluebird days. Spring was in the air for about 48 hours. Next week, the snow is predicted to return, giving us winter conditions at least into April.
This is great news for your summer mountain climbs. A strong snowpack keeps crevasses closed until late in the season and makes for enjoyable approaches.
Always consult the weather and avalanche forecasts before venturing into the hills.
Stay safe out there as you train…train…train…for summer fun. Let’s strap on some snowshoes and go!
